In 2001 Karen Zoid, a well known South African artist, reworked a well-known Afrikaans folksong and recreated it into a modern rock song. This song illustrates that Afrikaners are well-known as a jolly group of people who love to entertain. The song was based on an old folksong that tells of how Afrikaners love to dance.
